Short history about processed cheese
Processed cheese also known as prepared cheese, plastic cheese or cheese singles has its origin back in 1911, developed and invented by a man from Switzerland called Walter Gerber. However, it was James L Kraft who first applied patent on processed cheese in 1916, beating Gerber to the punch. James L. Kraft’s cheese was named Kraft Foods, and it was also Kraft who created the first commercially available sliced process cheese back in the 1950s.
