Some Sri Lankan’s believe rice milk to be a lucky
food. However, the popular dessert also has origins back in China were rice was
first cultivated on a larger scale along with India who apart from having a big
rice culture also have a big sugar culture and do you put these together you
will have the rice pudding as it is known to this day. In Denmark – rice
pudding is a national dessert on Christmas eve as well as small children are told
that rice pudding is the favorite food of Christmas elves.
Nowadays rice is probably the world’s most widely consumed cereal grain, which means that virtually every culture has a rice pudding they call their own.
