their teeth was the Egyptians. It was a paste or remedy which is believed to have
bee used even before 5,000 BC. The Egyptians simple mixture contained among
others crushed rock salt. However, the more modern toothpaste as we know it
today was invented in 1824 by a dentist named Peabody who was the first to add
soap to the toothpaste, years after John Harris followed the innovative road by
being the first to add chalk as an ingredient to the popular cleaning for teeth
mixture.
