Sodium caseinate is a nutritional supplement and food additive derived from the milk protein caseinate. 80% of the protein content in cow’s milk and approx. 40% of the protein content of breastmilk consist of casein. Caseinate is an excellent emulsifier and is used for example to make various kinds of cheap cheese products and sausage as it can bind fat and water and is also used for chemical purposes as glue, coating and paint.

Caseinate is a protein found in many different products from food to chemicals. Caseinate is the most dominant protein in cow’s milk and is what gives the milk its clear white appearance, as well as you can find it in cheese and ice cream. Casein proteins can be used as a supplement or additive to thicken, texturize, and stabilize food products or for chemical purposes. There are different types of caseinates, but sodium caseinate is usually the most preferred because it’s the easiest to soluble in liquid where it’s easier to mix with other substances making it valuable for a lot of different purposes.
