Short history about hummus
The debate between the Greeks and the Arabs over the origin of hummus has existed perhaps for as long and old as hummus itself. According to several historical sources, the earliest mention of hummus datesto Egypt in the 13th century.
Chickpeas are popular in the middle east and are still very popular, in fact, the word hummus means chickpea in Arabic. However, today several different countries have their own twist of the recipe.
